Hazelnuts are mainly used as a food source of proteins, minerals, vitamin E and unsaturated fatty acids, especially alpha-linolenic acid. A good idea can be to use it instead of extra virgin olive oil for cold seasonings for pasta, such as walnut pesto or Sicilian pesto, with ricotta and cherry tomatoes. Made from the kernels of walnuts that are left to dry for a few days, and then cold pressed, walnut oil is very valuable from a nutritional point of view. It consists of a small percentage of saturated fats (less than 10%) and a higher percentage of unsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, about 60%, including the precious Omega-3 and Omega-6; it also contains proteins, mineral salts (zinc, calcium, potassium and iron) and vitamins (E and C). It is an antioxidant, remineralizing and useful product against free radicals. It has antibacterial and antiviral properties, protective for the cardiovascular system and to fight chronic inflammation such as rheumatoid arthritis.
Ideal in sauces, on meat, in salads or in the preparation of pasta, bread and derivatives. Being stable even at high temperatures, it is recommended for baked goods such as sweets and biscuits. Obtained from the seeds of “Corylus avellana”, it is cold pressed and not filtered. In this way it maintains a high nutritional value from which you can draw many benefits.
Store and keep at room temperature.
